Chapter Introduces New Officers and Programs

The chapter swore in several new officers in January: Wayne (Doc) Sweitzer, vice president; David Miller, director of administrations; Denise Jones, treasurer; Joe Loda, director of professional development; Jairo Rugel, deputy directors of communications, and Lt. Michael Grochowski, USCG, a new Young AFCEAN Leadership Team member. Lee Rossetti, chapter president, awarded a certificate and welcomed Canyon Applied Technologies to the chapter as a new industry partner. Rossetti delivered the "State of Chapter" presentation and spoke of new chapter initiatives and goals. Tim Cathcart, director of programs, presented an overview of the chapter's new "C4I Systems Engineering Certification Program.” The first course titled “Systems Engineering: Requirements Development and Management” is scheduled for March 11, 2014 and is the first of a six course series. The program's objective is to prepare civilian and government professionals to define, develop, design, integrate, test, deploy and sustain command, control, communications, computer, and intelligence (C4I) systems for joint military and civilian crisis management operations.
