Seminar Explains European Program H2020

The chapter and the Office for the Promotion of the European Funding Programs (GPPQ) organized the seminar “Opportunities H2020 in Cyber Security” in October in the Hall of Presidents of AIP-CCI. This forum was intended to make known funding opportunities in 2016 and 2017 for the program Horizon 2020 in the field of cybersecurity. The event was attended by a large number of chapter members and parties potentially interested in research and development activities in cybersecurity. Speaking during the first part of the program were Alexandre Marques and Fernando Carvalho of the GPPQ and Rodrigo Mendes from the European Union, who addressed these questions: What is the Programe H2020? What is the participation of Portugal in the H2020? What are the H2020 lines of action for 2016-17 in the area of cybersecurity? After a break, Luisa Proenca of the Portuguese Criminal Police presented a practical case of candidacy to the H2020 Program, while Manuel Eduardo Correia from the Cyber Security and Privacy Center of the University of Porto elaborated on the concepts of cybersecurity and cyber defense, and Jose Carlos Martins, coordinator of the National Cybersecurity Center, presented the needs of research in the area of cybersecurity.
