Getting Fit for a Good Cause

In April, the Young AFCEAN Advisory Council's (YAAC's) Get Fit program participated in the seventh annual Centerpoint Half Marathon and 5K. The team consisted of young professionals from the military, government and industry who met up early on a sunny, warm Saturday morning in front of the YMCA in Prattville, Alabama, to run for a good cause. Proceeds from the event support local and international missions. This year, students are expected to volunteer in Atlanta, Honduras, Peru, Mexico, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds goes to support Stella's Voice, an organization that seeks to provide housing, education and hope for orphans in Moldova to prevent them from becoming victims of human trafficking. The chapter's Young AFCEANs are proud to support worthy causes and look forward to future Get Fit events.
