PEO Discusses Interlinks and Innovation

The chapter held the first luncheon of its Fall 2019 program in September at the beautiful Water's Edge Events Center in Belcamp, Maryland. Mark Kitz, deputy program executive officer (PEO) for Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensors (IEW&S) discussed how IEW&S interlinks with the newly formed Army Futures Command (AFC). IEW&S aligns with and supports the cross-functional teams of the AFC and relies on the importance of Industry partnerships to accomplish priorities. Brig. Gen. Robert Collins, PEO of IEW&S, has fostered many open-door meetings with industry, holding more than 80 individual sessions since taking office in May 2019. IEW&S is relying on industry to provide innovative technology solutions to meet their complex needs, including the Army network modernization program, dynamic data environments, and offensive cyber capabilities. Kitz assured the crowd that IEW&S is seeking adaptive approaches to reduce procurement times for important programs. He also stressed the desire for open communication with industry at Aberdeen Proving Ground and the surrounding areas. The September luncheon was rounded out with a small business presentation by E.J. Trivette of Zantech IT.
