Young AFCEANs Learn Leadership Characteristics

What are the characteristics of a leader? In November, members of the chapter's Young AFCEAN organization learned the answer during the second installment of the group's DoD 101 series. In the executive boardroom at CACI, young professionals engaged in dynamic roundtable discussions with Brig. Gen. Jay "Scott" Goldstein, USAF, mobilization assistant to the undersecretary of the Air Force, and Tom Mutryn, chief financial officer, CACI. During the sold-out event, attendees learned from these executives how to cultivate a successful career path by developing critical character traits and leadership skills. Participants also discussed how the nature of leadership in the defense community is evolving due to technological advances and changing business practices. The theme of the event was inspired by the book Character: The Ultimate Success Factor, by J. Phillip London, executive chairman, CACI. Attendees were graciously provided with copies of the book.
