Chapter Hosts Conference on the Importance of AI in Future Conflicts

In January, in partnership with APDSI, the chapter organized a conference on "Conflicts in the Era of AI," which took place at the campus of the New University of Lisbon and was attended by 130 participants. Artificial Intelligence can play a role of social manipulation capable of modifying our individual and collective consciences and changing human affections, attitudes, beliefs and behaviors in the contexts of future conflicts and cyber war environments. The first part of the conference was filled with a presentation by Rear Adm. Mário Durão, PRT N (Ret.), chapter president, who spoke about Future Trends in the Battlefield. In the second part, there was a debate on Manipulation of individual and Collective Consciences in Conflict Environments, which enjoyed wide participation.
