Chapter Launches New Horizons Diversity Series Webinar

In October, Marissa McCoy, chief of staff, Air Force Cyber Operations Portfolio/Innovation Engagement and Partnerships, The MITRE Corporation, and chapter vice president of diversity, kicked off the chapter's first New Horizons Diversity Series webinar, sponsored by The MITRE Corporation. McCoy introduced featured guest speaker Mark Crouter, career and leadership coach, The MITRE Corporation, who conducted a decidedly instructive, interactive session with participants, assisting them in building a personal user guide. Once built, the guide, an introspective tool, helps individuals understand how they work best with others to perform at their highest level. This tool is meant to improve self-awareness and share results with co-workers, thus providing insight into the individual's unique characteristics and needs. By sharing the guide and encouraging others to build their own, each party gains valuable insight into individual and team strengths, characteristics and needs. In turn, this process facilitates more effective collaboration, genuine inclusion and, ultimately, higher productivity.
