Chapter Hosts DEVCOM AVMC Command Chief Data and Analytics Officer
In coordination with partners HighSecLabs and CounterTrade Products Inc., the chapter hosted its June Luncheon, featuring Seth Farrington, command chief data and analytics officer for DEVCOM Aviation and Missile Center (AVMC), at the Auburn University Research and Innovation Center. Farrington detailed his mission to align people, processes, tools and data to achieve decision advantage and reduce operational latency across the enterprise.
A key focus was the integration of artificial intelligence (AI). Rather than utilizing isolated "bolt-on" models that stall, AVMC employs an "embedded path" by targeting specific workflow friction points, embedding narrow AI and establishing governance before scaling.
Farrington emphasized that systems must meet strict VAULTIS criteria-ensuring data is visible, accessible, understandable, linked, trustworthy, interoperable and secure. He concluded by highlighting that partnerships across the joint force, industry and academia are vital to ensuring war-winning future readiness.
