Chapter Opens New Season with Record-Breaking September Luncheon
The chapter launched its new season on a high note, welcoming a record-breaking 120 attendees to its September Luncheon—the largest turnout in the chapter's recent history and a strong signal of momentum heading into the new fiscal year.
Held at the Embassy Suites in Springfield, Virginia, the sold-out event brought together leaders from across the government and industry community for an afternoon of insight, networking and connection. The luncheon marked the first gathering of the season and set an energetic tone for the months ahead.
The program featured keynote speaker Col. Matthew Paul, acting capability program executive for U.S. Army Capability Program Executive Enterprise Software and Services (CPE ES2). Coleman was joined by a distinguished CPE ES2 Leadership Panel, featuring the project managers shaping the Army's enterprise software and services mission: Col. Melvin Mitchell, project manager for Logistics and Finance; Doug Haskin, project manager for Acquisition, Training and Readiness; Col. LJ Freeland, project manager for Human Resources and Force Management; and Rich Licata, acting project director for Business Technology Solutions.
Together, the keynote and panel offered attendees a timely look at the priorities and initiatives driving CPE ES2 as a new fiscal year gets underway—a fitting way to open the year alongside the leaders at the center of the Army's business mission.
"Opening the fiscal year alongside this caliber of speakers—and in front of a record crowd—is exactly the kind of start we hoped for," said chapter leadership. "The energy in the room reflects the strength of our community and the value of bringing government and industry together."
The record attendance underscored the continued growth of the chapter and the enduring appeal of its luncheon series as a premier venue for professional development and engagement in the National Capital Region.
The chapter extended its thanks to the speakers, sponsors, members and guests who made the event a success, and looks forward to building on the momentum throughout the season.
The chapter is proud to present its October Luncheon, Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Visit the "Events" page for more details: https://belvoir.afceachapters.org/upcoming-events-new
