On Wednesday, 28 June 2006, Vice-President of Chapter The Hague, Air Commodore RNLAF (ret.) Ir. Gerrit Schoonderbeek welcomed members and other participants to the June meeting at Sogeti in Vianen, The Netherlands. Mr. Frank Langeveld, Director Distributed Software Engineering of Sogeti NL briefly presented his company, which is a subsidary of Cap Gemini. Next Mr. Hans van Vliet, Business Consultant Mobile ICT Department of TNO introduced his presentation with the theme: "Mobile ICT: Everywhere and Anytime?" . He concentrated on Technologies used, Points to consider during Introduction of Mobile ICT and concluded with some Examples of Mobile ICT Projects The last speaker Mr. Martin Wiklund, Consultant of Sogeti Sverige, discussed new developments in the field of RFID. As examples of RFID, Mr. Wiklund mentioned: the Flower Auction in The Netherlands, Animal Tagging Systems, Access and Identity Systems, Timing at Sport Events, Luggage Tagging at Airports and Automated Guided Vehicles. The last example he discussed concerned the RFID Implementation at a big Swedish Steel Manufacturer that wanted to increase its delivery security. Mr. Wiklund concluded with some lessons learned, like: Start with a small Pilot in a Real Environment; Project Costs are to be estimated at 10% for the RFID and 90% for System Integration and Change Management is important, but not more than in other (ICT-) Projects.
