Nominations are now open for the 2024 AFCEA Emerging Leader Advisory Council (ELAC) elections for the following positions:
Co-President:
This lead position within the Advisory Council will provide support to AFCEA International, the Regional Emerging Leaders (RELs), and the Chapter Emerging Leaders to include, but not limited to:

Oversee the development and execution of the strategic vision for the ELs and ELAC.

Serve as the forward-facing EL representatives to AFCEA International.

Lead communications for AFCEA Initiatives to Regional and Chapter POCs.
-
Lead EL and ELAC Initiatives at AFCEA International for the ELAC.
-
Work closely with the AFCEA International staff to achieve ELAC objectives.
-
Oversee the identification and selection of ELs for new or emerging opportunities that develop at AFCEA International.
-
One Co-President will serve on the AFCEA Executive Committee and Board of Directors as the ELAC Representative to the EXCOM and Board.
-
Attend all Executive Committee and Board of Directors Meetings as required and provide brief on state of the ELAC, where possible.

Serve as voting members on the Awards Committee.

Work with RVPs and incumbent RELs to fill any REL vacancies.
-
Communicate with the ELAC on at least a quarterly basis through a method as deemed appropriate by both Co-Presidents.

Lead the identification and selection of the incoming ELAC members.
-
Support the successful transition to the new ELAC Executive Committee following the completed term period and provide ongoing support as needed throughout the term to follow.
Vice President of Internal Operations:
This position will provide support to the Council and its Co-Presidents in all activities to include, but not limited to:

Oversee and ensure co-chairs and growth in the internal focused ELAC Committees.

Assure that each AFCEA International Committee, where possible, has a EL Representative that is engaged with the ELAC.

Develop, oversee, and work with the co-chairs on the EL strategy to increase Membership.
-
Develop, oversee, and work with the AFCEA International rep and ELAC co-chairs to execute the EL Award programs.

Develop, oversee, and work with the co-chairs on the EL strategy for Diversity and Inclusion
-
Fill vacant seats on AFCEA International Committees as an interim representative until a representative can be identified and chosen to be on the Committee.

Execute quarterly conference calls with the AFCEA International Committee EL Representatives either individually or as a group to communicate ELAC initiatives and solicit the support of the committees in achieving ELAC goals.

Support each AFCEA International Committee representative in executing EL initiatives within those Committees with guidance from the ELAC Presidents.
Vice President of International (Europe):
This position will provide support to the Council and its Co-Presidents in all activities to include, but not limited to:

Provide a central point of contact to the AFCEA headquarters staff for European EL activities.

Serve as central point of contact for European RVPs, RELs, and Chapters to get information and assistance in all EL matters.

Mentor and assist European Chapters and Regions in growing and sustaining International EL activities.

Represent the European ELs at the annual ELAC Board of Directors meeting, when possible.
